Tamarind of Gisborne was founded by food lovers Pooja and CJ Singh, driven by their passion for creating and enjoying exceptional meals. This passion led to the establishment of a restaurant where the community can come together to enjoy unique cuisine and a warm atmosphere. Inspired by discovering at a wine and food festival how well Indian food pairs with certain wines, the idea took shape.

 

We proudly feature vibrant local wines and the popular beer Gisborne Gold, created by my late friend Geoff. Supporting local suppliers is key to us, from tender lamb to fresh seafood provided by local fisheries.
